i'm guessing its a bad thing when you find a snail trying to drill a hole thru another snail's shell? [he cracked it. didnt get thru though] the one about the size of a quarter is working pretty hard to kill [i think] the one about the size of a 50 cent piece. procreation doesnt require shell damage does it? perhaps calcium tablets will give them another source of shell material besides each other?
i read on a post here some human heartburn tablets are a good source of calcium but i forgot which one.

This is the first psycho snail story I've ever heard.

Two different kinds of snails?
The calcium carbonate in Tums is the active ingredient. It can be purchased without the sugar as generic calcium carbonate (your drug store?). The sugarin Tums feeds bacteria that may temporarily cloud the water.
Fishkeepers who want to raise their pH with a quickly soluble form of carbonate, but don't want to add sodium to the system, might be using calcium carbonate instead of bicarbonate of soda.

Does it get rid of their heartburn after a particularly spicy meal of those hot red flakes? :D
