Unknown bulge?

A couple of months ago i purchased a pepper mint shrimp from the fish store. when i bought it it had a large dark red bulge on its side, the fish store told me that it was probably an egg sac but it has not gone away after a couple of months. my shrimp is healthy and doing well but i am curious about the bulge. does anyone know what it might be? ( it has already shed its skin once, but the bulge remains there still)

Sounds like a parasite. They keep the eggs under the abdomen. I am not sure how you wouldget rid of it.
