Pleco sick?

Hello. My pleco has some white spots and I am a little concerned. Is anyone familiar with this? Is he dying?

my friends pleco had white spots and it turned out to be white spot parasite disease. (i am only new to this but i remember the little sugar grain specs on the fish) she got some treatment to put in the aquarium and they were fine after that. try taking a picture or at least a good description to your lfs they are usually quite helpful but beware of them trying to sell you extras you dont need!

white spots like grains of salt/sugar?? If so, it sounds like ich. Check out the articles at the top of the page, there is an article on how to treat ich.
