Royal Pleco people

How many of you have royal plecos? I think they look so cool. What size of tank is good for them and would they be able to live with clown loaches?
I'd like to get a biger tank...100ish...move most of the community I have in the 55 over to it, and add to it.
Then put discus in the 55....I'd leave the bristlenose in the 55 with the discus.

Royals get pretty big, like 14 inches plus. In addition, they have a large girth, ie. they become "football" shaped. They also need driftwoot to eat. They will actually munch on the driftwood and make "sawdust", which can clog a filter. Personally, I think a 55 gallon is too small, but it would be okay in a 100 gallon.

Royal would be fine in a 100 they do get big though like an overgrown tadpole. As long as you leave the bottom open with some hiding spots any royal should feel ok.Also they love a sand bottom.
