using ordinary floss in a canister

can anyone tell me:can I use regular floss in an Eheim pro 2? would it shed fibers and ubstruct the impellar?

What’s regular floss? Do you mean no name floss? As long as its aquarium safe, and is in a media basket then ya I don’t see why not.

yep.... and if you mean "craft floss/fiber fill/etc" then no... that stuff is treated with weird chemicals as fire retardants and other things and it will foul the water and leach chemicals...

thank you. the real thing I was asking was if anyone had the no-name non-comercial floss shed fibers thereby jamming/catching the impellar blades? (The commercial floss pillows do not shed but they are expensive and not readily available).
