I'm taking a trip to the past. Remember beloved "Adventure" the original role-playing game that you actually needed imagination for? I remember playing "Decathelon" for the first time. I was maybe 6 or 7, and it's one of my clearest memories. Newer, but even more fun was the King's Quest series. I'm wondering if anyone else remembers and misses these games. I know you can still find runnable versions of KQ and Decathelon, but what about Adventure? Does anyone know if there's a version that'd run on WindowsXP? It's eating my brain! AAAACK! :help: ;) :D

Does anyone know of a game that you can play on the computer (I played it probably 10 years ago) that was a worm that you had to maneuver through different mazes?

Is that the one where you had to eat the numbers? And the snake would get longer and longer?

It came with a old version of DOS. I forget which version. I remember playing it as well.

Thanks Joe, I had also found that site. I just hoped someone found something a little more user friendly to install. I did end up downloading a DOS executable one, so hopefully I can make it work.
Leopardess, I think I remember that one too, though I never got to play it. It's so funny how I used to think it was special to play even "hangman" on the computer. And I remember getting finger cramps from 'running' using the letter keys! Joysticks are a miracle compared to that! (I know I'm a Nerd!) :)

When I was little and had a Commodore 64 I used to love playing zappy zooks. It's like pacman but... different.

Also kind of off topic but does anyone remember that game called Creatures? You'd get eggs and incubate them and they'd hatch and explore their little world and you could breed them and stuff? They don't make it anymore but I really really want to track a copy down. I played it as a kid so it's kind of a nostalgia (I can't spell) thing.

well, I found nibbles doing a search, but of course none of them work for me :mad2: . I'll have to have my husband figure this out. He will be soooo happy to find out how I spend my days ;) . I also came across the gorilla game, have to give that a shot too!!

Haha, yah! Nibbles! I used to have a slightly crappier version on my graphing calculator, too (along with tetras and various other non-math-related activities).

Tetris has to be the most addictive game on the freaking planet.

I remember playing King's Quest VI way way back in the day. What a great game.

Then there's Doom. The best game ever. Certainly a classic. I still play it even now. In fact, i think that's what i'm about to go do.

When I got my first computer, it came with a freeware disk of "The Journeyman Project". You had to solve a mystery by going back in time and finding clues, etc. Loved it! I've bought every version since; up to #4. Haven't seen much of them since that-probably because they are fairly non-violent-can't use a gun, a bomb, only your brains... I also loved Myst for the same reasons-solving the puzzles!

LOL Salty I even went looking for a new adventure game(non-violent) the last time I had spare money. I couldn't even find one that suited my taste, so I recovered a chair instead. :)

I agree, flying fish! I'd rather exercise my brain than my arm & triggerfinger!
