The bananas on a couple of my plants are turning yellow and mushy. Does anyone know what causes this? I have one plant without any bananas at all that's been floating around. It has some roots and the leaves look fine but can it stay that way? Or will it eventually die from the lack of bananas?

Thanks,
Stac

The bananas are used to store nutrients. When the plant becomes well established, it doesn`t waste any energy keeping them.

That said, if the plant is not doing well, it will draw all the nutrients out, and the first thing to show sign of deficiency will be the bananas.

If you take good care of your plants, it`s probably option A. If not, it`s probably option B.

Thanks charby. Just one more question...assuming it's option A, do they ever come back?
