simple question, lots of answers.

I have a 10g tank with 1-18" bulb with various sundries sitting empty.

What would you all do with it? I want something off the wall interesting and unique.

I was contemplating SW but thats too much money for a razor edged ecosystem that i will probably not be able to take care of properly. so lets keep this FW or vivarium based :)

Fire bellied newt tank?

How about fire bellied toad vivarium?

Or dwarf puffer species only tank?

You want really off the wall, and low budget? Crawdads (crayfish)! I had raised crawdads for awhile. They did great with only one drawback in that they are adept at climbing and you want to have a secure lid.

Crawdads are fun to watch as they mull about the tank.

Then you can also include a few other "wild things" per the limits of Fish and Wildlife regulations for your area.

Remember, it's not wise to mix wild things with storebought because of disease and parasite issues.

been studying the dwarf puffer's for last few hours. im leaning toward getting about 3 of them and moving some of my java moss and anacharis from my 20g.

what type snails would they eat. my QT (5-7.5g not sure) tank is currently home to about a billion microscopic pond snails, strange tiny bugs, and worms all over my java moss and glass. once they grow out some I figure i would have an adequate food for aobut 3 dwarf puffers. I've also just introduced MTS in my 20g and QT tank so i figure i will have plenty of those soon.

Any specific suggestions of breeding snails? are waterchanges needed as often for snails only? the QT tank is looking quite nasty.

I am thinking of pumping up the kh some. should I feed them at all or just let the algae grow thick for them?

While its still warm, put some of your snails in an outdoor tub with some water hyacinths. I wasn't trying for snails, but they really exploded in my outdoor pond. I don't even feed the pond, they just grow on their own.

I like some guppies, tetra and a betta....

my LSF as this toad/frog, i 4got what its called, its green and orange, they ahd it priced at 30 bucks, every expensive, but its eats live mice. I think feeding would be fun to watch, but other than eating live rodents its just sits there and poops.... as a matter of fact u shouldnt get on until u like cleaning up poop.
