Something to level the gravel?

I have a 44 gallon pentagon aquarium, but I am sick of wetting my whole arm (up to my pit) just to move something or flatten the gravel. What would you use to flatten the gravel in this unusually tall aquarium? :huh:

I use a algea 4-in-1 scrubber it has 1 flat end with a soft sponge and a rough sponge side and a scraper on the top and the other side it has a planter fork thingy and i use that to smooth out my gravel. And for moving stuff you might use a aquarium tongs.

Expensive but more useful.
