Hello again. I'm the one that had the troublesome leak with two small ponds connected by a stream...all contained in frontyard landscaping. Well I removed the stream and purchased a second pump/filter making the two ponds independent. Well that fixed the leak problem, but while do the work, I didn't exactly maintain the ponds that well. Both went a short time without any filteration or running water. I cleaned out most of the gunk and cycled the water until it appeared clean. Everything is largely done and I even have four frogs living in the two ponds....the problem now is I have an enormous amount of tiny snail infesting the pond. They are all over everything and even climb into the gaps in the small plastic fountain thus fouling its stream. These are about half the size of erasers and appear brown. Can anyway tell me the best way to eradicate these? Would small fish take care of them for me? I did want to eventually put fish in there, but not sure if the snail are a problem for them or would actually be a feast. Thanks for any input.

Lobo.

I live in Northern Indiana. Right now, we've had tremendous heat. In the 80s & 90s so far most of the summer. The water is unshaded on one pond and very warm. There is more shade on the upper pond with a Weeping Cherry tree-canopy overhanging half of it. Both have the snails. In the winter, they will freeze over, but not completely to the bottom.
