I just purchased a butterfly fish and it has a little white boogey looking thing on the side of him... what is it? I dont know if its just stuck on him or if its attached

looks kinda like a bump... I have determined that its a kind of fungus. Im going to buy something tomorow for him, what do you recomend. Other tankmates include (Black ghost, congo tetras, rainbow fish, rosy barb, clown loaches, otos, bala shark, B. rainbowfish) I have 6.5pH no ammonia nitrities or nitrates and its a 75g

mainly I am worried about the clown loaches dying or the black ghost knife dying from the meds. I think the ABF will be okay but those fish are a tad week when it comes to stuff like that. I dont currently have a hospital tank.. Im going to set one up sometime real soon but I've never had a problem and i've been keeping fish a REAL long time so I havent needed one (Im sure not as long as most people on here, but I make it my priority to find everything about every species that I have so i am well rounded)

you might want to hold back on the meds and see if it takes care of itself. You should be able to tell in a day or two if it is getting worse. If one of my fish gets cut, or gets a bite taken out, I usually just leave it alone and it heals on it's own. If it starts to get infected you could medicate with fish antibiotics.
