I really think that plecos look cool but the issue is that i have a 10g, so what is the right size for a pleco?

The "right" size would depend on a lot of other factors: do you have live plants, are there other fish in that tank, and so forth.
But yes, that pleco would have to stay small.

Most plecs grow quite large and will need lots of room..even the smallest varieties need about 30+ to be happy. A cool little scavenger for a little tank are Oticinclus - here is a web site devoted to them! Enjoy!
I would say that a rubberlip pleco or another kind of pleco that stays small would be ok in a 10 gal. They only get 3" or so... Just make sure there's enough for him to eat, or supply algae wafers!
I would also suggest sticking to ottos for a tank that size. If you had a 20 gallon some of the smaller plecos like bristlenose would do fine.

Or do you mean what is the right size tank for any given pleco? If you have a particular one in mind that will help, their sizes can vary quite a bit :p:

i have clown plecos, they grow to about 4 inches. but unfortunately, they are very shy. they only come out when the lights are out. very cool looking pleco though.
