Maybe some of you creative folks can add to my ideas. My husband and I are doing the nursery with a jungle/african theme. The walls are painted very pale green and the carpet is dark green. I have an incredibly talented friend who is going to do animal/tree murals on the walls.

Any other ideas?? I found a couple of cute things while searching the internet the other night: to give you some examples: a giraffe painted on the wall to use as a height chart, safari hats/binoculars hanging on the wall, birds on the ceiling......

Thanks :D

What about palm trees that are painted on the wall, but also have 3-D leaves that stick out? One right behind the crib, and the leaves could serve to hang appropriate toys on, or have built in shelves to store stuff in the trunk area.

what about making the bed/crib a jeep?

If you have a ceiling fan you could paint palm fronds/plant leaves on the blades. You just need two colors of green paint and a branch from a plant. Use the darker color first, then when dry lay the leaves across and paint over the top(spray is easier)with the lighter color. I used this effect on my daughter's dresser(forest theme) and people really like it. I used Lantana branches because the leaves lay flatter. Of course you could always stencil them - but then where's the creativity or randomness?! :p: (My son's room is also a jungle theme - but he's 2 so I can put things in there that I wouldn't suggest for an infant, like furry pillows, etc.) Post pictures when you're done if you can - I'd love to see it!:)

One of the ideas I saw online was to have netting hanging in a corner of the ceiling and putting small bugs/butterflies in it to look like a net, which was kind of cute. I also like the idea of turning the trunk into shelves. My friend is coming up Monday to look at the room, so hopefully she'll have lots of ideas too!
