I've read the article up top (great job Leopardess!!) and now I *NEED* a frog (or two...) I'm working on a plants only 15 gallon high that currently has just a few plants, some black sand and miscellaneous free-loading snails from PetCo and I'm thinking a couple frogs would look lovely in there (after I cycle of course. :) )

I was wondering, will the frogs dowell in a tall tank? Are there any plants they like more than others? If I provide shady areas will they be okay with the bright light needed for the plants? I haven't decided if I'm going to use co2 in this tank yet but I'm assuming the frogs won't mind it since they go to the surface for air anyway?

Ya that sounds like a good set up. The plant choise will depend on the lighting levels so I cant really list any now. I think that 2-3 frogs and a Betta would look nice in a 15g.

If you use a fermentation / diy system like the one I have (and link below) you should be ok. This system says it is good for up to 15g tanks - I have two of them on my 30g.

What's in there now is a T8 so if I'm going to turn it into a Plant aquarium I'll need to up the wattage...

Please don't temp me to put a fish in there! :p: I did start thinking about a powder blue dwarf gourami but then it would be ANOTHER fish tank. lol I'm gonna try to stick to my plan of plants only (it's oh so hard!) with just a few non-fishy critters. Shall we start the pool to see how long I last? ;)

Charlie, I have one of those on my 20g and the plants are doing pretty well but it's only lightly planted. I guess if I'm gonna try a plants only tank then I should just go ahead and get it...

Plants only tanks are great. My 5g is a plany grow out area where I hold my plants untill I toss or sell.

with ADF's its always a good idea to something like a cave to go into and hide. I made a cave out of some small peices of slate rock that i broke off and used some aquarium silicon to hold them to gether since adf's are good at knocking things down. i would also probly put some ghost shrimp in the tank since adf cand be messy eaters. also watch your snails so that they dont start eating your plants

Aquarium safe Epoxy is better with rocks then sillicone.

I looked for aquarium safe epoxy at the local hardware store (lhs? ;) ) but couldn't find any that said it was safe. Is there a particular brand? Is it worth it to make a trip out to the burbs to a home depot to find it?

Thanks, I should've checked there first! I will try to find it at Home Depot first because it's a bit of a pain getting things delivered to my house :(
