What is up with the people in aquabid. Last time i went there they had guppies for $20 US! The same ones that you can get in petsmart for $2.99 or $4.00 US!!

No, they are not the same ones. Many of those are potential show quality fish, breed pure, and are worth a lot of money. You can not get those "same" guppies at your LFS.

Look at them. Most will look better then the ones you get at your normal LFS.

hard to tell from the picture, but my guess would be no. Even if I hadnt looked at the picture, my guess would have been no.

The price is mostly about health and the possibility to breed true. When you take more time to get a guppy from the right person you can breed more of the same - or the outcome can be predicted more easily. Anyway, there is a good reason for the price.

I've heard of a person paying a couple hundred dollars for show quality guppies.
