Does anyone still remember that? On August 14, 2003 at 4:20pm the power went out got most of Eastern North America. Roller coasters will stuck half way up the lift, offices went dark, and no computers! I was swimming and the filter went "k-poo*. I thought it shorted but, after looking at my watch I found out it was a major blackout. So I went home (took HOURS) and listened to the FM. No XM back then :( It came back the next day at 1pm in the afternoon. All of our food was trash, and the stores were empty. I sure had fun

So what were you people doing when we were left out in the dark? :thud:

I was sitting at my computer playing games that whole time... power didn't go out here.

Actually I have no idea what I was doing then.

Sitting at home thinking "Boy, I'm glad I'm not in a major city right now":)

I was in a coffee shop. Moments earlier the waitress had spilled soda on me, so we were joking that I was cursed and that's why the coffee shop lost power. Then we started walking back to work and I ran into some friends that were leaving to go home because they were out of power. It turned out that some wings of our building lost power while some didn't. Mine hadn't lost power, but we all ended up going home anyway. Which was fine, because we still had power at home. It was weird how adjacent towns would lose or not lose power--but different parts of the same building was really weird.

I was sitting at home reading about in on my computer. :p:

I was glad we only had a brownout here, but I could seriously sympathize. If we go a month without a power outage it's a miracle. I felt bad for all the people who had to go without A/C and walk home too.

I was part of the North East that didn't get hit. Actually in Canada I would say the North East didn't get hit so mych as the centre did.

Yah, we never lost power here....nor did my parents in the upper part of the state.
