Hi All,

Need to work out how many Angels I can get into my 100g

There will be 6 plecs (L114 staying in 30g)
30 Cardinal Tetras
3 Angels (2 marble 1 Altum)
and possibly 6 ottos

Can I fit more Angels in? I'd like another 6.

I wish to have them in there as juveniles but leave them in there as I do not have any more space for more tanks!

I'll be adding an external filter to help out the internal canister.
Heavily planted (eventually!)

Id say you could have 6 more angles if you exclude the plecos.. Are you going with small plecos, like pitbull or BN's? if so you should be able to get a few more angles in there.. or you could lower the number of cardnels in the school..

i would go with four but if you really like them go for it

Thre is a good chance the Tetras could get eaten as the Angels get big. Something to think about. 30 Tetra would look cool though!

Hi Guys,

in answer to all questions.....
Plecs will be 5 x L316 (Rio Jari Zebra - 3.5" max length) and 1 x L102 (Snowball 6" max).

100G was bought specifically for catfish - I love L Numbers so wuld spend as much money as I had to to sort out enough filtration etc. Tank will also be heavily planted inc. a bed of E/. Tennelus which should help keep the water a bit cleaner (as per AshDavids 400g with no filter - think it was him).

Have chosen Cardinal tetras over Neons - I understand they are natural prey in the wild but will be using the theory that if the Angels grow with the tetras they will be less likely to eat them. So far the 6 I have are ok and not been menu items!

Also idea of 30 cardinals with the Angels should create some nice natural schooling behaviour - i think that would be pretty cool if not a little cruel.

so maybe if I look at 5 extra making a total of 8?
Another question - have found a source of TRUE peruvian Altums - they are mega expensive (about £150 for a 3" high) will they be ok? They are wild caught and have just started to learn to eat flake.
These fish are cool but so is the other filter i would buy!!!
