I have a female gourami who has taken to lying around or just hanging out near the surface. Her fins are drooping a little but there are no physical anomolies that I can see. The rest of my fish are very healthy (in appearance and behavior) I left her in for two days in this state (but she was still eating) today who would not eat at all so I removed her to the quarantine tank.

My tank is 55g planted, temp 78, ph 7.2, amo o, ntrite o, ntrate around 8 today... I do 30 % water changes weekly.

My quarantine tank is a 10 gallon Naked, no gravel no nothing I add one plastic plant whenever I add a fish. I maintian this tank in a constant fishless cycle... meaning I feed the biological filter amonia each day... the levels are very constant, ph7.2, temp 80, amo o, ntrite and ntrate 0.

I want to save this fish... what are the possible problems and possible solutions.

Thanks in advance for advice!

could it just be old? It doesn't sound like your tank is a problem...

just keep a very sharp eye out for signs of identifyable illness.
How does your Qtank maintain 0 nitrates?
hows she responding to changing tanks?
