Maracyn and Melafix

Just a quick question. I got a couple of female Green Terrors who had it out with the big male last week. They lost a couple of scales and had their tails nipped. Now they have tail rot, one pretty bad. I've never had this problem in the 5 years I've had terrors, so now I have to fix them. I started them with melafix, but kind of got scared of when the water foamed like soapy water. Is that normal? Second question. Started them on Maracyn today, I was told the tablets would dissolve quickly, what does quickly mean? The tablets have been sitting at the bottom of the tank for 2 hours now. Is that quickly?

dunno about maracyn tabs.
foaming is normal with melafix.
it would be hard to really overdose on melafix, but check you added the right amount just in case.
foaming wont hurt anything.
i have had good results with melafix. on tetras gouramis goldfish and bettas
 
Next time you get some Maracyn, look for it in powder form. It's new and some stores in your area may not have it, but you can get it that way now.
