Hi Guys,

Heres my problem... I have got a 30 Gallon FOWLR tank set up as follows

30Lb Live rock
Caribean Reef sand 2"

Fluval 204 Canister filter running Carbon and biomax media
100W heater
60W white antic 60W blue

I have had the tank for over a year now and am still having problems with brown algae its everywhere and its now swamp my green star polyp (my only coral)

Other that that i have 2 perc clownfish and a CBS

Any ideas anyone its driving me mad!

it is either from stuff from lime stone u have, not live rock or and most likley from your silicates from u're tap water. I have the same problem. I am using some tunze stuff that is meant to take it away, but i started it today so i;ll give it a few days.

I have heard that the coralife silacate remover will work I have a 100 gallon and it is everywhere. It looks so bad. I am going to try the silacate remover when I get the money.

yea, sounds good. Mine has worked really good and it is nearly all gone!

coralife silicate remover work very slow. it take about 1 month to see the result. beside, after it's exhausted, it will release back the subtrate back into ur tank....as i know, it will effecient as other product.

maybe u can try Aquaz product....Efficient and better than Coralife.

just my 2 cents..

i bought mine at my LFS like everything else becuase they are the best. It is called TUNZE QUICKPHOS 910. I bought 1 kg of it and it will last me about 1 year. I payed $47 australian for it and it has worked in 3 days. get it i really reccomend it
