Usually what works is a bucket of hot water and a splash of bleach. Let it sit for about an hour, then let it sit in a different bucket that contains alot of dechlorinator. I've never had a problem with this, but you may want to be careful if you have something sensitive, like discus or apistos. Otherwise, it strips the algae right off.

Apistos, genus Apistogramma, are small Cichlids.

Davey, 19 parts water-1part bleach.....dip the fake plants for a couple of minutes....take them out rinse them well in fresh, clean water. Put them into a bucket with more fresh clean water that has been treated with dechlorinator and let them sit a while and you're good to go.

Well, I was wondering why this thread wasn't in the "Plants" Forum. Now I understand. When you said "plants" you had me confused there...
