View Full Version : What can i have with Convicts in a 55g?

I currently have a 10g tank with 4 small convicts in it. I'm getting ready to break down a marine 55g tank over the winter, and in the spring I want to convert it to freshwater for my convicts. I was wondering what other fish I could add with these 4 convicts in a 55g? Thanks

One thing for sure, you need to speed up your program. You are over crowded with 4 convicts in a 10 gal tank. With the way they breed, you will have a 55 full of convicts in a short time

I have parrot cichlids and african cichlids in with mine. I also have 3 tinfoil barbs too. No fights.
It all depends if there is a breeding pair of convicts int he tank and how much you want to save any babies. There seem to be few fish as viscious as a male convict when there are eggs or babies present. My friend's 40 gallon had to have a divider put in to keep the peace, otherwsie all the cichlids were hiding in a amazon sword plant on one end of the tank and not moving as when they did they got attacked and possibly killed.

any BIG cichlids that can bite back my female (amy) always bites my oscar check out the post 'Wooohoooooooo' im doing updates on the 2 of them they seem they mite be breeding very soon.
