When I bought my Cardinals there was one Neon in the mix. I've noticed that the Neon is growing much more quickly than the cardinals. The neon is now noticably larger than the cardinals even though they were all the same size 3 months ago. Do Neons grow more quickly than cardinals?

Watch the fish when you feed them, is the neon quicker to the food than the cardinals? When they school, where does he sit? Front, middle, back, or is he constantly foraging? A lot of cardinals are sustainably harvested from the wild, while most neons are tank raised. Maybe the neon is better equipped (physiologically) to grow on flake food. Maybe the cardinals have some internal parasites (found in all wild caught fish) that are taking thier share of the food. Lastly, I think neons get a smidge bigger than cardinals, but I may be wrong.
