? I was cleaning out the filter housing etc... and took out the pump to clean it, i plug it back in and it isnt working anymore

Im sure i messed up with somthing, but i dont remember the order of pluggin, unplugging, taking off the tube thing etc... but water did come out of the housing and onto the pump because i forgot to empty it all th way (oops)

whats wrong with it? dead?

Sorry I'm not familar with that one. Don't panic. Is it making any noise at all? Did you prime it? Did you check to see if the impeller is in place? Gently wiggle the impeller with your finger - see if that starts it moving. It looks something like the walmart filers and with them I've had to wiggle the impeller to get they going again. Hopefuly someone familar with them might be able to give you some better advice soon.

true, bump it a couple of times and then if that doesnt work take out the intake pipe then i usually use a pencil and touch the impeller ...it should start spinning imeadiatly! if that doesnt work then take it completly apart again...put the impeller in fisrt propellers up..then place the pipe back on top ...hob filters sit funny sometimes and thats why you beat them ...and have to jiggle the impellers! good luck!

When you were cleaning it did you take the impeller out? Is it in upside down? Have you tried wiggling the impeller with your finger or a pencil?

Try taking to impeller completely out, use fresh water to rinse out the housing, and then put the impeller back in, seating it fully and correctly. You should be able to spin it by hand. If it won't start when you plug in the unit, try using a chopstick to flick the props into motion. I don't like using a pencil--but a plain wooden chopstick like you get with take out works very well and won't introduce anything to the tank.
