I just want to know when I should put her in her own tank?

I want to try to save all the babies I can, should I do it tonight? In a few days?

She looks pertty close to me, but I can't tell, as I've never really had a pregnant fish before...

Thanks!

pic works for me, although extremely slow loading.

are you talking about the black fish? isn't that a molly? it's harder to tell on black fish but with live bearers, they develop a black spot (like the orange swordtail) just in front of the dorsal fin. when it becomes really dark the birth is usually only a fwe hours away.

yup, thats a swordtail allright, there's just no males in the pic. and by a black spot do you mean a hole? presumably where the babies are going to be coming out from? its going to be so hard to tell with her, isnt it?

well, I may just move her to her own tank tomorow anyway, it wont hurt her to be alone for a few days, while we wait for the babies.

wow, talk about slow loading, I have a cable modem and it felt like I had a 14.4 bps dial up connection.

LOL, I was thinking my motorola cable modem quit on me too!!

She'd be grateful for a couple of days peace and quiet before the event. She doesn't want to be accompanied by sirens at the last minute and drop her babies in the taxicab.

Do you have some tangles of Java Moss to put in with her? It gives the babies some protection and they eat the protozoans off it in their early days.

Hard to say for sure, but I think you've got a few days yet. Be careful moving her; rough handling can prompt miscarriage. Livebearer fry are not eqipped to survive if expelled early.
