Hey guys, I have a betta that apparently having problem with its swim bladder. It floats up to top when it tries to swim down. Poor fish! I've tried fasting it for a couple of days, it probably is around day 4 today. No change, it have gotten worse, instead of floating upright, its sort of leaning sideways on the top of water.. I've tried feeding it freeze dried daphia, it seem uninterested. I don't know how to feed it peas like I've read in other post in past.
Any other ideas I can help with the betta's swim bladder problems? :shark:

::EDIT:: Floatie (betta :D) just had a couple bites of daphia.

I've decided to name the betta Buoy if it pulls through :D It's still floating at top, taking gulps of air as usual. I've decided that I will keep it on diet of Freeze Dried Daphia for awhile. I plan on only feeding it daphia in morning until it gets better and I'll start mixing it diet w/ betta bites later on. Is this a good idea?

there's a good chance the betta will die, so keep feeding the betta what you have been feeding it and hope for the best.

Aw shucks. I sure hope not. I'll be sure to not over feed or anything like that.

Yeah, its fairly new. I had it for a month or so now.

To feed a pea, all I've ever done is pop it out of the shell and cut or bite it into a tiny piece that would be small enough for the betta to eat. That seemed to help me in the past, also my betta had issues for the first few weeks I got him (I think it was the freeze dried bloodworms, I've learned) and since I stopped with the BW's and bought him a food from www.bigalsonline.com the problem seems to have been fixed. Heres the link if it works

How did you get the peas to float? LOL, I had frozen pea that I thawed and put in there, it just sank.
And what did you mean by BW? I'm not sure what it is.

I defrost the peas, slip them out of their shell, and then mash them up, squoosh them, between my fingers instred of cutting. then put the mash in in small bits. They sink slowly and the betta ( or other fishnow) follow the bits and eat them.
