hi guys,
i need a answer, basically im setting up a 6x2x2 foot tank up from scratch, for freshwater fish...

now i bought a filter, called Aqua Pro CF-1500, now do i need a undergravel filter, and if so does it matter if the top of the solid corner tubes dont go all the way to the top of the tank?

also, if i dont have one, how else do i get air into the tank, like were do i put the airstones?

cheers

An undegravel filter is not a necessity, although I do like and reccomend them.
Secondly, the purpose is not to aireate, it is to filter. Typically an airstone is not needed either, good circulation and a little bit of surface motion will provide ample o2 levels.

Airstones as used in conventional UGF systems are there to create watr movement. Many people Myself included do not use airstones to power our UGF's, especially on big tanks. Powerheads are quieter, less hassle, and IMO more effective
