I bought some clear amonia to start my fishless cycle. The ingredents are:Soft water, Ammonium Hydroxide. I filled a one gallon jug and dechlorinated it. I had to add 14 drops of the ammonia to get a reading of
4 to 5 ppm. The ammonia is probally 5-6% the rest is soft water. I have a 120gallon aquarium so 14x120= 1680 drops. Does this sound right to those of you who have done fishless cycles. Sounds like alot of drops I guess because of its small concentration.

hmm .. how much does a 1/2 capful per 10 gallons get you? That is how much i was typically adding to get to 4-5ppm.

grocery story ammonia is notorous for being of unknown quality so I can only say add it slowly to the actual tank until you get what you want.

Either that or convert "your drops" to a standard measurement(ml, teaspoon, cup whatever) and then scale that up. Drops vary extremely depending on viscosity of liquid and the shape of the dropper.

"my drops" typically run about 25 drops of water per ml but yours may be entirely different.
