Ok,

I live in Michigan, and I have a good ammount of fish stores locally. However, none of them have a nice variety of pretty or cool fish... The most colorful fish I've seen looked awesome... They were so pretty you would'nt know they were FW if you did'nt see the nice pleco stuck to the glass. There were two problems with the fish... One they werent for sale (owners collection) and two, they were all different color chiclids... They are mean fish that wont live with much else...

I need some good places with different FW fish... Websites, local stores, or just the names of cool fish, Personally the weirder the better, Also colorful is a definite plus...

Can anyone send me some nice links to some cool fish

Thanks everyone...

Ive never kept any chiclids but plenty of people do. its no big deal. check out the chiclid forum here too, id suggest, for more names of fish.
no need to rule out chiclids.
look for images of rainbowfish. not wied, but strikingly colorful IMO.
discus of course, although you need to be serious about their mainenance.

A couple of my favorites are:

queen gold nugget plecos
zebra plecos
cardinal tetras
pictus catfish
bala sharks

They're all pretty much community fish. But watch, the zebra plecos are very expensive and not recommended for beginners. Queen gold nuggets are about 20 dollars each (mid range) but are very cute.

You could also get a teacup stingray (FW). They're really cool and don't get all that big.

Wrong. Teacup is a label slapped on juvenile rays of almost any species. Even the smallest rays get up to 12 inches, if they canbe kept alive that long.

A 55 is not a good option for a stingray. It really is not.

If you like the SW fish, why not just setup a SW tank?

Stingrays do best in shallow wide tanks, that is not a 55 gallon. they also need a sandy bottom and have very specifi dietary needs. They are not an easy fish to keep.
