outdoor show.. It was awesome.. he really gets the whole crowd into it.

one thing though... Have any of you guys seen greenday live? He's really not too crazy about G.W. Bush. Does he trash Bush when he plays in the States as well?

I've heard some friends from back in the states talk about them because they LOVE them but personally I don't like them. From what I've heard they trash America in general especially on one song. I think most people just listen to the beat and music not the words. They sing the words but don't really think about what they are singing! That's my opinion. I know not everyone does that.

I'm sick of people trashing this country and our President......not much I can do about it....but I'm sick of it anyway........

BTW....I'd like to thank all those from other countries who have been sending help for the Katrina disaster....I heard Australia has sent a hefty sum to the American Red Cross.....

Thanks you Aussies...you're the best ! (next to us of course.. :D ;) )

I saw them live in the San Diego Sports Arena back in the mid 90's (Their "Dookie" album). I liked the show, but got sick of all the dope smoking that went on around us.

I like their new music, but their bashing really doesn't get to me much. Controversy sells, but that is what punk music genre is all about. It has been anti-government from the beginning.

So basically, they try to appeal to the rebellious individuals (which is usually teens and younger people). I'm not saying adults don't like them, my husband does.

They only have one song I like, the rest I just can't stand listening to. The guy really doesn't have any singing talent. Which is a norm these days.

*Sigh*

That is how I see it. It has always been that way with the entertaiment industry, but it is not limited to this industry alone. The more shocking it is, the better the sells. This is just to see what everybody is talking about.

I kinda like greenday.

I could deal without the political views, but hey, people love it. And he did take a moment to talk about all the devistation that's happened with the hurricane.

I think in a lot of ways greenday is a good summary of everything wrong with the music industry today. I have no problem with musis expressing political views, the way they do it is just so commercial and silly. They're like avril lavigne, they're not there to actually say something they're just there to sell to a demographic. Not that commercial is necessarily bad, I just think greenday is a punk band in the same way that mcdonalds is home cooking. And I'm sorry, if you're thirty and still resorting to eyeliner and foul language to shock people, it's probably because you have nothing to say.
