i was reading through posts and someone mentioned a teacup stingray... anyone know anything about them? how big do they get? how big a tank do they need? what do they eat? are they good for a community tank? do they need a sand substate (i thought all stingrays needed a sand substrate, but i saw a pic of one on gravel). if u know anything about these fish, please share what u know.

First, 'teacup' is a misnomer used for all small stingrays. It is not a species name, and without identifying the species, it's hard to estimate size. Smallest will still be about 12 inches in diamter, largest range up to about 2 feet. Even the smallest will need a fairly large tank--I wouldn't go with anything smaller than a 120. Rays are very sensitive to water quality, prefer live or fresh foods, can get along with a variety of larger tankmates (small ones and inverts will be eaten). Sand is the preferred substrate, but small smooth stones are acceptable as well.
