I'm thinking of redoing our bedroom in this. I showed DH the catalog and he liked it. Now I'm just asking for opinions. :)

Thanks!

I wouldn't want it in my room, but I tend to prefer solid colors, or small patterns. But, I think the base colors are good, and think there would be several good options for other furniture and walls with that.

Sorry, jungle room isn't my speed at all. The pictures of the tigers is over the top for me.

However, having said that, if you're going for a safari room, you can do it with similar patterns. The colors are right I just think the tiger images is a little overt, as is bamboo. Instead, try for the rich earth tones and use some antiqued dark wood furniture. Bombay Company is a great place to find that sort of stuff. I would try to turn the room into a game hunters lodge rather than Elvis' Jungle Room :D

But, that's just me. Taste is entirely subjective and it is your room!

I agree-the jungle theme isn't my thing either, but I could see you making a striking room out of it. I would pick paint and carpet and furniture with a view to going with something else in the future if you want a change, and resist putting a matching wallpaper border up, it's harder to change, unless you just put green folaige up that might go with something else in the future.
The catalog you linked has reasonable prices...get it and enjoy it, and when it wears out or you are tired of it, get something else.

I'm going as a No too. Although I do love tigers and think they're beautiful.... using it and leopard print as a decor... eh, I wasn't ever really into it. I mean I could see the potential of it looking fantastic, I just don't know if I would have the inspiration to tackle it in my room. Like Nursie said, use a color thrme that will be easy enough to change if you also don't like it once you get things rolling with it (if you do).

Ask yourself a few questions first. Is this a style you've always liked? Do you already have things that would fit in perfectly in that style room? Also, you might want to limit the print to the bedspread, and be more subtle with the window treatments, etc. My son's room (he's 2) is supposed to be a jungle theme, but I haven't afforded it so it can only be seen in a few accessories right now. My Mom is supposed to be working on a comforter with a realistic tiger scene in the center/top. I think your room could be beautiful if you treat it like an outfit. If you wear a dress with a busy pattern you'd accent with simple complimentary jewelry and shoes, letting the dress make the statement. Maybe do the same with your room. It'll be cool!

I agree with you!
Your statement reminded me of something that happened when we were house hunting a few years ago. We were looking at a house in our hometown. The lady homeschooled her kids, and there was religious art, etc., all over the place. We walked into the master bedroom and there was a 14x20 photo of her on the wall, one of those boudoir photos! Kind of startling! No nudity or anything, and was really a tasteful pic, but not what we expected.

I like the colors but not the theme too- but it's your room. If it's something that will make you happy you shoudl do it.

Something I always consider when I'm painting rooms and such is how long I expect to be in the house. I know I won't be in my current house forever, so I make decorating decisions based on what I will like that will also improve resale value. If you know you'll be in the house for years to come, go big. If you're likely going to move in 6 months--I'd think twice.

True-made me wonder if they were supposed to take it down when they showed the house!
