Does anyone her have a famous relative? I guess the most famous of mine is Jefferson Davis. YA! GO Confederates!:D...also go yanks!:D...well..if you don't know who that is then I'll tell you! Davis was the Confederate President during the Civil War(I LOVE books and movies about the Civil War!). OOOO YA! I also forgot about my royal relatives. They lived back in the 1200's so it is distant but I still think it is COOL! My father used to do all that stuf to find out who we are related to. My family is related to Queen Elizabeth(which means Prince Charles..ew) but VERY VERY VERY distantly! lol..oh well..still it's cool!

oh ya! one of my 3-4 cousins works for Bill Gates. He has a mansion himself :thud:

Not to an Irishman its not

How's this for reaching; the actor Richard Libertini (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0508844/) is a distant cousin of mine. I don't know the technical terminology for how it relates to me but I think he's a second cousin of my dad's. He's probably best known as the editor in "Fletch", the crazy dictator in "Deal of the Century", and the guru in "All of Me"

Beautifulfish...we could be related.....my family name is Buck on my father's side.....came from Norfolk England way back in the 1500s.....Buck was shortened from Buckingham... :D

My dad's family has been in the states since 1623 and settled in Ct. A group of them formed up and moved to Pennsylvania...(Buck's county)...so...I don't know if that counts for famous or not....lol....I guess Buck is a pretty common name in some parts.

I have a 2nd or 3rd cousin who was in alot of western movies, but I hate them and can never remember the guys name. One of the movies is always on tv and if I'm with my dad he has to remind me that we are related to the guy, like I haven't heard the story a hundred times already :D !! Its become a "I used to have to walk 20 miles to school" kind of story

Nope. When Donny died, my aunt sold the property they'd built in ME, and I know the rest of the family is...Not really on friendly terms with her. His side of the family is the Ross side. There was a lot of bitterness when he died--my aunt was his third wife. She still lives in the house he bought in Vail CO, and I have been there. It's a really nice place--more stairs than I want for my old age, though!

I'm a direct descendent of Daniel Morgan's brother.

No idea who that is, eh?

He was the general that led the American Colonists to defeat Banastre Tarleton’s battle-hardened force of British regulars at the Battle of the Cowpens.

The historic battle that is considered the turning of the revolutionary war in the colonist's favor.

Another no name ancestor who was part of Steven F Austin's originial 300 to settle in what is now Texas.

That's all I've got.

But my wife is the direct descendent of Stephen Vincent Benet who wrote "The Devil and Daniel Webster".

Well gee...they filmed "In the Heat of the Night"...the movie with Sidney Poiter in my hometown of Sparta Il in the '60's. It was supposed to be set in Mississippi, but the filmmakers thought the deep south wasn't ready to handle something like that. There were a lot of townspeople we knew as extras and I remember being in a crowd at night when they were filming on a dark street next to my grandparents house. The people that owned the International dealership were friends of my parents and their dealership was in it, and their daughter had a part as an extra.

And..my uncle is an engineer who invented some do-hickey on a tractor for International Harvestor and it's in the Smithsonian :D (He's in his 80's..it was a long time ago..)

No way!!!! My great-grandmother was the "Betsy Ross of the Confederacy" She was @ 15/16 and already a highly accomplished seamstress. A Confederate officer heard about her and asked her to make a flag. I actually have an official certificate that documents me as a "Child of the Confederacy." I think it's the Second Confederate Official Flag you see on the link below, but it may be the Third; my father has a copy but it's all wrapped up. . .
And I'm related to Ellizabeth Barrett Browning . . . sigh. . . and my brother is married to a Canadian actress (they live in LA) and he designs totally cool sculptural lights based on Japanese aesthetic made of steel frames and Japanese papers and fabrics which he sells to famous people like Bruce Willis for thousands of thousands of dollars. . . I once had the great grandaughter of Daniel Boone work for me as a waitress. I was doing country club work up near Boone, NC, which is named for the same pioneer, and did'nt realize he left a large family up there.

As for being physically related to someone famous... Well no. I researched my family name all the way back to 1050 A.D. or so, and the best I can come up with is, my family name means "deformed man". Kinda a let down, but I now know how to make a racoon skin hat.

Speaking of the museum and relatives, this: http://www.civilization.ca/cmc/cardeng.html is my daughter's maternal grandfather....and this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trudeau is her great, great uncle.

My direct paternal progenitors were the von Bülows that were the aristocracy of Prussia and later Germany.

Also, slightly less closely related to:
