I am begining my african tank in a 72 gallon bow front.....so I need to know exactly how this tank should be maintained....any help is appreciated! :bowing: :duh:

Okay, first of all before Nataku goes off... :p: You need to chose species from which lake you want.... Malawi, Victorian, or Tangs. "African Cichlids" is pretty vague. If you give some ideas of what species you want, and what lake we can provide you with more information. Remeber, you cannot mix species from different lakes. :thm:

Thank you Kayla. Too tired to deal with that tonight, lol.

Lol, I've seen many of your replies to posts like this.

Another thing blue, im guessing your not new to keeping fish but do you have tap water parameters? Just curious and it will be helpful when it comes down to deciding what species you want.

Oooooh, and if you pick Tang's then I'll get to learn more!

Nataku, I think I haven't said thank you for all the great information. Maybe now is a good time. LOL!

Whichever Ones Have The Electric Blues??? Thats The Species I Want!

Just because most of us purist don't like to mix lakes doesn't mean you can't does it? I've heard of and talked to lots of people who have succesfully mixed lakes. I think you could do a tank with electric blues as the rockdweller and still have some shellies to fill the lower level no?

I don't think you can mix Tangs with Malawian because of Diet and Aggression??
