Does anybody no if the Waste Control product by Hagen is any good? We got some with the aquarium as a package deal and are wondering if it is safe to use. The Gouramies seem to be pumping out the waste and we are looking for a way to solve it.
Also is it safe to use with real plants?

Thanks,
FASTRAKR

Thanks, I had read that quite a while ago and had forgotten about it.

We are planning a water change tonight so I'll try it after that.

Thanks,

"Waste" is a dubious category anyway, in any planted aquarium where the bacterial bio-filtration is in charge... but to identify the dark solids left after bacteria have mineralized fish feces as "sludge" certainly sells more packaged bacteria than to call it "humus"...

WETMAN - are you saying that since my tank is still getting started that a waste build up is normal and that once it gets going the waste will breakdown quicker into needed nutrients? The wife just doesn't like the look of all the waste laying around and vacuuming doesn't seem to keep up with the production.
