I don't think it takes any research to know it a hoax. It's a joke - in bad taste maybe- but you got to laugh it's better than the alternative. I got the one with the guitar in an email entitle "Drove my Chevy to the Levy".

I thought its intent was pretty evident...Plus, last I knew, the swealtering heat of N'awlins in August/Sept. doesn't merit a big poofy jacket.

No research needed. It's obviously a joke.

Yes. The pic is doctored. Geesh. :(

Also, there is no program called the "No Fish Left Behind". :bowing:

Additionally, stripers prefer cooloer water with higher O2 levels.

although, I find the doctored pic pretty darn funny how does this not go against the whole "no political or religious threads" thing? I'm sure somebody could get offended by this joke.

"The key word is debatability.

acceptable posts in the political range would be defined as one that may be a political joke or something of amusement such as: Bush was seen with his fly open or "did you hear the Al Gordon spelled potato with an e on the end?"
unacceptable posts would be of a debatable nature such as: a decision that was made by the senate committee and put up for ballot or "bush is the biggest PITA and is good for nothing". These threads would cause heavy debate and arguments in the end."

I hope there isnt any debate over wether bush actually visited new orleans and went fishing for sewage fish.

Read the Guidelines and thou shall be saved.

yep, y'all are certainly right, I forgot about that part in the guidelines but I still think that someone could get p***ed off by that (the joke). Like I said, it's pretty funny (the joke) but for some reason only recently have I seen so many threads here getting so heated and locked up. So it seems to me to be pretty shaky territory. JMO, not trying to be a party pooper.

BTW, I should think that everyone knows it's a joke, lol.

Well, like slip said, the picture is not debatable...at all. Any debate is offtopic unless it's in regards to the pic being real. Which it most clearly is not.

Now let's move right along.

Hey, sumthin - you're just as shocked as I am. I had to have a talk with my fish about the "No Fish Left Behind" law being a fraud!

Poking fun at whoever is the current administration is kinda like a bipartisan national passtime, I don't think people take that as debating politics.
Even poking fun at any political figure is fair game.
It's debating policies, etc that cause the problems.

Poking fun at each party is certainly a national pastime.....lol.....like those two links I put up....now that's funny political humour......it's when someone tries to be funny...but not really....that it starts to get heated.

Humour is a good thing....a really good thing when it's lighthearted and doesn't turn nasty.....when it does that it's no longer funny.

How about a pic of Clinton getting a BJ while Osama plots his terror plan? Now that would be funny, since we like to mix politics with human suffering.

Yeah lets all have a giant, empty, silly, boring, tank. What is so inapropriate? When he commited the act of oral sex with a student, the story of it was broadcast on national tv in front of our children, I used abreviation. Do you think the bogus pic of Bush, is any more appropriate than the truth?

Yeah lets all have a giant, empty, silly, boring, tank. the point trying desperately to be made here is that all these fish will not live a healthy live in these conditions.

Who is the "he" that committed an act of oral sex with a student???

Lighten up Bob.

The pic is represents the Federal government's slow reaction to the disaster.

They were fishing and waited until they were done to do something.

Ever heard of political humor?

Why not poke fun at the administration?

Besides, if you are SO concerned, what have you done to help?

I gave $250 and along with my co-workers the total was $5000 that was raised for the local NG to help purchase supplies that they were trucking down. My cousin who is in the NG is now down there helping.

Did you give money when the twin towers fell?
A lot of people did. I did, and I will for this too. Each to his own, but IMO...if you live in this country you should pitch in and help when there is a crisis of this magnitude.

This pretty well says it...

"No man is an island", John Donne

...No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee..."
