I have 4 red wag platies and 2 albino cory cats, I feed them TetraMin Tropical crisps twice a day. Two of my platies are very agressive when it comes to eating and the eat all of the food i put int the tank(besides a few that make it pass them). The two other platies are a bit smaller than the other ones now. How can i feed them and make sure that the other one's get food but still not over feed the bullies. FYI the cory's are doing just fine with the left overs that fall to the floor.

I would just feed them once a day. My gourami gets pushed to the bottom. I would try to get the fish that aren't getting the food on one side of the tank while the other bullies are eating at the other end. my fish has learned how to do it. I hope that you can get your fish some food!:D

If you feed them continually at one place, the fish get used to it and crowd around that place (it should be the bullies that do this) whenever u walk in the room... feed them there and then put another portion at another place? Jus a suggestion

use a flake food that'll sit at the surface longer so that everyone gets a chance to eat and I might suggest a varied diet for all your fish.

you may want to use a turkey baster. feed the more aggressive platies higher up as usual, and use the turkey baster to shoot some food down to the bottom where your other fish can get it.

I have this EXACT same problem with some zebra danios I brought into the tank this morning... The buggers RULE the food and never leave the top portion of the tank! Even when I think they have eaten their fill, and wait to feed them after 10 minutes the danios are still stuffing their faces while the tetras at the bottom scrounge for scraps (as if the danios would ever let a scrap go uneaten, HA!). I got a feeding ring, but that is not working as the tetras dont even go to the top of the tank anymore at ALL, they stay at the bottom and middle only. I might have to get some sinking food for them so they dont starve.

Odd thing is my Serpae Tetras are twice the size of the danios and they seem to be scared of them. I wonder if its because there are 6 danio and only 3 tetra?
