I have 2 pet rats they are named Nibbles and Digger aka dip****.

Nibbles is the adventous rat. She always manage to come out of her cage and roam on the table since its where the cage sits at. Once in a while she gets lucky and get off the table.
Last 2 times we found her behind the refigator but today at 4am, I had a nice surprise. I was visiting dreamland when I felt something tickling my eye. I woke up and Nibbles was right in my face! A very pleasant feeling when you're having rats whisker tickling your face :joke:
My mattress was sitting right on floor so it was easy for Nibbles to get on bed and scurry around on my pillow. Dang, crazy rat! I think she was trying to tell me that she wants either go back to cage or wants more food or just having plain fun.

Any stories about something like that? Share away!

I don't have any rat stories, but that is hilarious!

I got to meet Nibbles and Digger. They're a couple of sweet rats. Nibbles has a lot of personality. Jinx, I think she was probably trying to steal your pillow so she could take it back to her house and add it to her stockpile of goodies.

Thanks ha ha. Yeah, Nibbles is one adventous rat. God, I can't believe how she found her way in the bedroom and up right to my face. She must have heard my breathing and decided to say hi. PTH She seemed happy to go back to the cage and have food to eat and go running in the wheel like crazy.

well my sister has a white rat that loves to beg to get out, then when you go to pick her up, she shoots into her cave  You have to dig in to get her and her claws dig into my neck. When she puts the rat on the floor, she will walk around everywhere but never gets outta reach...she will go to my feet and if I have shorts on...she will jump about halfway up my chin then try to latch on, but she only slides down my leg and that hurts like hell! But she is a cool looking rat and they are much better pets than mice and hampsters.

When I was 16 years old my sister found a Baby flying squirrel that had fallen out of its nest. Being somewhat of an animal person she decided to take it in the house and try to nurse it back to health and adulthood so she could set it free. She had this little doll baby bassinet that she put the squirrel in. Two nights after finding the squirrel at around 2 am I was awoken by blood curtling screams. My dad ran into her bedroom to find my sister frozen with fear laying in her bed with the covers pulled all the way up to her neck. My dad said "whats wrong, whats wrong". She said I don't know there is something moveing around on my legs. My dad pulled the covers back and come to find out the squirrel had gotten out of the bassinet and got into bed and under the covers with her. I about died laughing. My sister was 19 at the time, I couldn't believe that she was so scared. I still crack up when I think about this.

I had a rat, Raymond, (named from the great cheese conspiracy) when I was younger. He was like a dog. He followed me arround everwhere, and I tought him to "fetch". Really cool critters if you have the time to get to know them. If you ever have an escapee you need to catch, get a plastic clothes hamper and set it at an angle (not too steep so they can slide down the side, but not too low whwere they can climb out)against a table or other tall structure. Put some food in the bottom and mabey a few pieces near the enterance. The critter will slide down to get the food and be trapped. I've used this on more than one occasion.

I had found a baby squirrel laying in the middle of the road once. It was so little it's eyes weren't even opened yet. I picked it up, put it in my shirt pocket and took it home.

But at the time my 9 month old son had just started to sleep through the night. This little squirrel was so young it needed a couple of feedings a night. The first night we realized this when were were awaken by a blood curdling god awful scream coming form the squirrel's bed....lol....he was hungry.

Well, I was just beginning to get a good 6 hours sleep a night after 9 months of getting up every 4 hours to feed my son.....soooo....I only had this little fella for 3 days. I found an animal rescue person who already had 4 other baby squirrels..so she took this one in for me. Cute little things.....

A friend of mine had a rat......it was very dangerous. Anytime you had to open the top to feed it ....it tried to attack you. It finally got her husband and he ended up killing it....

I don't know where they got that rat from....I think someone gave it to them.....but I do realize they aren't all that way....but rats can be very dangerous animals if they aren't raised properly.....

Holy cow! Poor rat, it must have been not raised right or never been tamed.
Mines so sweet... Digger can be doo-doo head sometimes... another little story.. one time I stuck my nose in cage and digger thought my nose was food and tried to take it in the cage! OUCH! That stings! I got 2 tiny red dots on my nose :soda: Now I'm not going to be sticking my nose in cage with Digger that rat!

My mother had a rat 'TR" (the rat) for many years...Always so gentle..Even had sweaters for the thing...One thing mom did was condition TR to the sound of a bell...Right before she got fed she would ring a bell...TR learned to associate this sound with food...Anytime she escaped, she would ring the bell and TR would head for the cage....

I've never had rats. Their tales bother me. I have had hamsters, though and they were lots of fun. We had one that would get out of the cage all the time and go hide food under the T.V. One day both hamsters got out and disappeared forever.

You mean the babies ate snowball's brain?  Yuck!! Thats nasty!
If you get other rats just get 2 rats of same gender. They'll be much happier that way. I have 2 females so no rugrats :joke:
