When I read posts on newbie and general forum about tanks stocked with danios, livebearers, and tetras, I just want to grab the people by the collar, shake them and yell: GET SOME GD CICHLIDS IN THAT TANK MAN!! ITS PUTTING ME TO SLEEP JUST READING ABOUT IT!! Does anybody else feel this way? Is there something we could do about it that wouldn't get us banned or arrested for assault?

lol I dont know if it shakes me up that much... but I do agree I just think something along the lines of... "if they only knew" but cichlids for the most part a lot more work than what most of those fish are. I kind of think when I see people in the cichlid forum I think "Go buy a Ghost knife or an arowana" those are my favs. Or... why no shrimp? or... why no L numbers?

That is funny :joke: I seem to think the same thing about mollies and swordtails and all those other sickly little livebearers since I went to cichlids. It is cool to have a fish that wants to jump out of the water and bite you.

theres a cichlid for every tropical fw type. I have turned 55 my tank into a cichlid tank without realizing it!!! 10 convicts (and a male auratus, soon to be gone) block the the veiw of3 5" blue gouramis, 3 G. danios and 2 spotted puffers. Then a divider and an8"bloodparrot with a 6" pbelly crawler pike cichlid. the 7" syno. ereptus blends into the wood ark so well that he has scraches on his face from cons trying to clean him for spwning!!! LOL!!
