Hi, my Video Yearbook room has a 54 gallon tank, and we want some fish. I'm gonna be in charge of it, so what would you guys recomend? These (or this) fish will need to have amazing personality. Thanks

Personality you say? Corner tanks are made for african cichlids. Limestone based rocks piled all the way to the top and a nice selection of mbuna (colorful cichlids from lake malawi) would look great. Make sure you get suggestions on compatible species first. Come on over to the cichlid forum and we'll hook you up.

what exactly is a Video Yearbook room?

so, who's going to be taking care of it over winter break? how about over the summer? are you going to go in there every single day, even weekends, and turn the lights on/off? when you graduate, are you going to be taking the tank and fish to college with you, or does it stay there in the hopes that next year, and the year after, and the year after, someone will care enough to make it their responsibilty?

Take a deep breath..... They make timers for the lights, fish are fine for a few days without food, and most schools do have teachers that tend to come back year after year. I'm sure the club has an advisor that has ok'd this and will take responsibility for the fish at the end of the year. Err, your club does have an advisor that will take responsibility for the fish right? If not, refer to the previous post. :cool2:

Of course. This is the advisors tank, and he has put me "in charge" since I know the most about fish in the club. RIght now I have a baby midas in a 55, and have doen tons of research (dont worry he has a home after he is too big for the 55 ;) ).

Also, our school has a marine biology teacher who has 20+ yrs aqaurium experience, runs his own tank setup/maint company, and has 7 tanks of his own in his room, so he comes in on breaks to take care of them.
