Are you basing its chickeness on the sole fact that it likes to hide? Or is there something else to it? I had a JD years ago that stayed in his cave just about all the time, but none of my other fish would dare enter that little hole. Kinda like calling a crocidile a chicken because it "hides" underwater till its food gets close enough;)

I had a fire mouth that went through 3 pet shops and at least 5 owners that I know of. It was the spawn of satan and took down stuff 4 and 5 times its size with ease. I just wanted it to live out life in a 75 at the shop I worked at but one day I was not there and a less knowledgeable sales person sold it to a guy I know and a week later he was breakin my spine about this killer wiping out 3 of his managuense. I pop onto a shop across town a few weeks later and low and behold the demon fish is in a 55 with a couple freaked out choclates. Told the guy there the story and if he wanted the Chocolates to survive to get the beast out of there. Months go by and I hear from another guy in my club that satan fish strikes again. After that I lost track of him..I suppose hes made his way into a lake someplace and is now the only thing left in the area. I've kept SA and CA of all types but this Firemouth was by far THE most agressive fish I ever had. Hide???? not on a dare..he swaggered around the entire tank like HE owned it..not me..too bad he was so outright mean because he was a stunning looking fish.
