Can it be done where I have one male and several female bettas happily living in a 10 gal?? How many females would be the suggested number??

If not, any other ideas what to put in the tank? Snails are out, selection in my area is just mystery snails, which im not particularly fond of.

Bad idea. After mating, the male betta will drive away the female. If there are no room for her to run, he will kill her.

A small group of panda cories, rasboras, small tetras, or white cloud minnows would work.

How many white clouds could I have in with him?? Would I need additional filteration. Right now the filter is just a little box pump filter. What do you feed whitle clouds?

How many of the other fish for that matter?? Id probably only stick to the betta and one other kind. Raspboras look interesting.

oh, they probably wouldn't even get to the mating part and they'd just start picking on each other.

Change of plans. Im going to move my betta into my empty 15 gal with a HOB filter. How many other fishys can i put in with him?

I have my male betta in a heated, filtered, planted 10gallon with three otocinclus catfish and they all get along fine.

My girlfriend just got what we believe is a spotted cory in a 5 gallon hex with her female betta and they also get along fine. The female betta-- an aggressive one-- chased the cory a little bit at first, but soon lost interest. Now they can almost bump into each other and neither one cares.

I've also read here that possibly african dwarf frogs might be okay. I wouldn't go with any small shrimp that might get picked on or eaten, though when I had a singapore fan shrimp in a tank with a male betta, I didn't have any problems. The singapore shrimp are on the larger side, though.

Basically, I'd avoid anything with long fins or that could be mistaken by the betta as another betta.

Long fins are not good and fish that are very active because they can stress out the betta.

I have mine with what is in my sig, below. You wouldn't want clown loaches, 15 g is too small, but there are others, yoyo and pencil loaches that I think will do fine in your tank size. I have also had mine with mollies. Cories should be kept in schools.
Having hiding holes and silk plants to sit in would be good for the betta.
Not sure if I agree with active fish stressing a betta, depends on what the "active" fish is and the nature of your betta.

As always, observe your betta's behavior, be ready to remove it if there are problems. If you need more fish combinations, you should search past postings on the topic!
Good luck!!
