hi all, I was just wondering if anybody knows about any freswater eels that could be kept in a two foot tank as i have 4 of them in storage and would like to see them back in use. 1 of them will be a cichlid breeding tank and i was hoping that another could be used as an eel tank. So does anybody know if such an eel exists. thanks for any help.

how many gallons is your tank?

technically, there are no true freshwater eels, but there are many eel-like species

I think ropefish will get to big for a 2 foot tank

this link might help you www.wetwebmedia.com/FWSubWebIndex/matacembelids.htm

i think you could probably get a peacock spiny eel, they stay small

ill do some more research and post again later

Any eel like fish will get WAY too big for a 12g tank. You might be able to get a couple of snakey looking loachs, but not exactly eels :D

a tentlecled snake might work atleast for a while. otherwise some raelly young senegal bichirs, you will have to upgrade or get rid of them after they grown though.

peacock eels only get up to 8 inches in the aquarium, i dont see why u can't get one for a 2 foot tank
