Live Rock on Ebay

A friend and I are thinking about splitting on 100 pounds. Again not sure if the ground shipping is going to cut it though.. The 1-2 day would be best but costs like $300. It's $100US for shipping to canada for ground.

We pay $10/lbs CDN for live rock at our local store.. what does it cost for people else where?

it depends on the type. the cheapest is about $5 per lb., the most expensive is $10.99 per lb.

the $5 one doesnt really have any visible organisms on it though, just some algae

I've never seen it for less than $6 per pound - and that's rare. The majority of the places I've seen sell it for $7.

Where abouts are you?

Ontario. I only have one place that I know around me that sells it. In Kingston. Pet Paradise Superstore. $10 per pound. I think me and my buddy are going to try this stuff out from ebay. His feedback is good, and his emails seem to be fine. Just trying to figure out what day of the week would be the best time to order it. Monday, or Friday? If we are doing ground, which is 5-7 days but not garanteed, it's a tuff call.

I bought 30lbs of live rock from this seller starting out my 55 gal tank. The rock seemed to be pretty good. It is deffinitely better looking than the stuff my local pet store has for $10/lb covered with red slime (eeeewe!) No nasty things on it, and it's definitely cured already. My damsels have made a series of tunnels under it in the sand. Don't have anything growing on it yet, other than a little tiny bit of algae.
