Does anyone feed their fish lettuce or spinach? If u do, what are soem of the methods u used, because I am having a little difficulty getting my cichlids to eat teh lettuce or spinach. thanks

right on mightyqueen, i would love to try ur recipe! sounds like a better way of gettin them their veggies, rather than leaving lettuce in the tank!

Well, i cant take credit for the recipe...The link is here http://www.thekrib.com/Food/paste.html

The only thing I did different was omit the anise, omit the paprika, and sub a bag of "chowder mix" instead of all the individual fish, shrimp etc...Chowder mix is a little bit of everything. You should be able to pick it up in the frozen fish area of any decent supermarket...My adult cichlids were so-so with it, some liking it more then others, but the babies go nuts for it...

thanks for that link pixie!
I read that before feeding the veggies, u gotta blanch them. I also read that microwaving them for a few seconds works jus as well, true???

You don't have to blanch veggies before putting them in your tank. Many folks do this simply because they want the veggies to sink.
