I've got a second-hand Whisper 10-20 that just crapped-out on me. The impeller seems to be getting stuck. I've disassembled it, cleaned it, and restarted many times, but i just can't get it to fully prime. Half the time it just sits and humms as the impeller sticks and when it does actually suck some aqua it gets stuck the very instant before it fully primes. AHHHH! That is the most frustrating part!

If it helps, it looks as though the impeller is not alligned correctly when viewed from above, but I can't find anything to cause this so I am at a total loss. :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:

I just found on my magnum canister that the plastic tube that runs inside of the magnet had worn on one side, and the magnet was not centered. This caused mine to jam, check yours and see if you have worn parts...
 
I don't see any wear, but then again, if I were an expert I wouldn't be asking. I figure for what it would cost to replace ($20 and I prefer Aquaclear anyways) I should not worry about it. I just hate putting unnecessary money into tanks, it's just too easy to do. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
 
Yeah I agree the parts are not work it when you can get a new one for a couple of bucks more... The part I need is over $35 and I can get a clean used on for less...
