Hello all. I have a question about my "friendly" White Clouds. :D I have 6 Clouds in a 29g tank, with 6 Harlequins and 4 Threadfins.
For some reason the past couple of days, 2 of my clouds have been non stop harrassing the others, and the harlequins, but not the Threadfins. These 2 devils are biting pieces off tails, flaring constantly, and chasing my poor fish into the walls. Is this normal? Or do I have a pair of demonic clouds?
I've been doing daily testing to make sure the water isn't making them nuts, and my readings are all 0 amm, 0 nitrite, 5 nitrate every time. Any advise? Thanks in advance.

sounds like you have a couple males interested in spawning. They have a vested interest in capturing territory and driveing potential egg eaters away from the chosen spawning site.

From my experience if you have to many fish that are interested in the same area of the tank you can be over crowded even if the tank and your maintenance is able to support that amount of bioload. You have several mid water schoolers that are in slight competition for space to school in. Add reproduceing interests and you have your aggression source.

Thanks SnakeIce. So to bring back the peace, would I be better off moving the Harlequins or the Clouds to my empty 10g?

I think the white clouds might be a little more comfortable in the 10g - you could even wean them off the heat and go without a heater - they can take temps down into the mid-50's range - throw some Java moss in there and see what happens!
