Hi, i need some advice for breeding my syndontis eupterus also known as featherfin catfish, they are at a mature age but i just can't seem to get them into the mood for breeding.

i got some pics, at feeding time.

Help anyone?

no one in the US breeds them on purpose. you might have luck with bristlenose plecos

Nahh i've already bread bristlenoses to easy if you ask me. I want a challenge and if i can get a steady supply of these catfish my lfs will buy them off me. Each one for around $20, so that is why i need to find out how to breed them if anyone noes how to.

I have the awnser!!!!!!!! this my ot make sense but you will have to breed muothbroding african cichlids first. The thing is they find cichlids laying eggs, sneak in eat some then replace the eggs with there own, female african pics eggs up, the cats hach first and eat the egg and the female has quit a surprise when she releases them!!! ;) this does not work with all synos but Its the best I have

LOL HAHAHAHA

IM sorry but that was funny :) that method of breeding only works for cukoo syndontis, and i have already bread them, and unfortunately all the babies were eaten and the mother and father died. (but thats another story)

Still looking for anyone who has experience with these fish and knows any info that may help at all.

I will Google it hopefully it works!!!

research what and how they give them hormones at those fish factories. sounds like you've had quit the experiences. what else have you breed???

Um well basically i have bread, Fuelebornis, cukoo syndodontis, severums, guppies, halfbeaks, sailfins, electric yellow, electric blues, kribensis and frontosa, bristlenose are all the ones i have bread.

Also i think im quite close in breeding my tropheus duboisi, Taking me a while though.

 i think that is all of them.

the girl i bought my 55 from was an ellectric yellow breeder. Half-beacks never show up here in my opinon, rocket gar look like overgrown halbeacks. How well can syno. eurpterus get along? I bought one with a great dorsal at 6" and my 8" one left several 2-3" white scraches to him he is now recovering in a 55 comunity with lots of caves. Would you have any experiance with red-tail cats? my rocket gar just died and I thought id use the garentee money for a 2" asian
