Favorite carnivore

I was just wondering what carnivores people have kept and and really enjoyed and why. Mine is the Arowana. nothing compares to its hunting or the way it swims in one fluid motion.

I just picked up a little silver arrowana this weekend and I have to agree with you. He's fluid, gracefull and highly observant of his environment. He's an amature when it comes to hunting though. He's in a tank full of nice clean feeder guppies (Half the reason I got him is to do something with my guppy/endler surplus) and while he shows interest in snapping up these little morsels, I've only seen him get one of them. Usually, he'll dart at one, and make a clean miss. I know he's just a baby, but will his hunting skills improve? He's supplementing his diet with flakes, so I'm not worried about him starving to death, just wondering if he's going to be the lean, mean, guppy eating machine I hope he will become.

although i've never kept one, my favorite freshwater predator is the P. Leopoldi stingray. it looks so awesome. my second favorite might be the silver arowana.

even though this was posted in General Freshwater, my all-time favorite predator is the Hawaiian Dragon Moray Eel. It might even be my favorite out of any fish.

mine also is new and is roughly 5". He occasionally misses but for the most part he is quite the predator. Between him and my BGK they will wipe out a dozen feeders in about 1/2 hour. You should deffinetly look into feeding it crickets, prob my favorite to watch. but make sure you are getting either pin-head or smalls if your aro is real small.

The only I have is Monster, my 5" crayfish.

He's not the greatest of hunters, per se, but he sure loves to intimidate.

Needle Nose Gar!! They snap onto their prey and flip them around head first and GOBBLE 'EM UP! Then they swim around with a huge bulge in their once stream-line physique

We have a black arrowana, and she is the most graceful fish in our tank and an awsome swimmer. The odd time she will snap at an African who strays too close, but for the most part she is satisfied with shrimp, beef heart, and pellets. :)
