Whitish slime covering tank

I have noticed that there is this whitish slimy stuff growing on my quaranteen tank, as well as on the filter and air pump. It sways gracefully in the tank almost like hair blowing in the wind. Its very slimy to the touch. And its reproducing like MAD! What is this stuff???

Im not sure what it is. I cant capture a good picture, as the plastic quaranteen tub isn't completely see through, and the slime itself is white. It looks like it COULD be an algae. But ive never seen white stuff before. And its about an inch long in some spots.
